Obituary

EPSOM - George H. Nickerson, Jr., 76 of Epsom, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough. Born on March 8, 1944 in Damariscotta, ME, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy L. (Weed) Nickerson. George was educated in the local schools and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army. He worked for many years as a train engineer for B&M Railroad in Boston until his retirement. He enjoyed trips with his late wife to Oxford Casino to play Black Jack as well as attending family reunions in Maine. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (Mandigo) Nickerson in 2018, a stepson, Richard Currier and a brother, Robert Thurber. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Sargent, Jeff Nickerson and Janelle Guarino, his stepchildren, Anita Frost and her husband Albert of Epsom and Robert Currier and his wife Holly of Epping, sisters, Donna Emery of Alfred, ME, Brenda Pitcher of Augusta, ME, Marion Karns of Centerville, OH, Ethel Brewer of Boothbay Harbor, ME, Paul Nickerson of NH and Connie Rice of Boothbay, ME, three grandchildren, Amy and Matthew Doucet and Jacob Guarino as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There are no services scheduled at this time. The Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home in Epsom is assisting the family with arrangements.
