Pastor Gerard "Jay" Hardy Obituary (1957 - 2020)

PITTSFIELD- Pastor Gerard M. "Jay" Hardy, 63, of Pittsfield, was called home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2020. Jay was born in Haverhill, MA, the son of Shirley A. (Commeau) Hardy and the late Albert C. Hardy. He was raised in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1975. He continued his education and attended the Berkshire Christian College where he received his B.D. in Theological Studies. For the past 36 years, Jay served as Pastor of the Second Advent Christian Church in Pittsfield, NH. His life revolved around his faith and spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren whom he cherished dearly and saw nearly every day. In addition to his mother, Jay leaves his wife of 40 years, Dorothy "Dot" (Bue) Hardy; his three daughters, Katherine Oyerinde and her husband Toyin of Edmond, OK, Elizabeth Strieby and her husband Anthony of Chichester, and Melissa Dingman and her husband Jeremy of Chichester. He is survived by his five grandchildren as well as his siblings, Albert Hardy, Sharon Bailey, Lisa Allan and Patricia Hanides. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, December 15th from 5:30 to 7 P.M. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. In accordance with state and local guidelines, all attendees must wear face-coverings and adhere to social distancing as required. A celebration of Jay's Life will be held in the Summer of 2021.
