Gerard T. "Bear" Sheehan

Gerard T. Sheehan , age 57 years, of Northwood, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness at Mass General Hospital on July 3, 2016. Born in Norwood, MA, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Disnard) Sheehan. He graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth High School Class of 1977, and Northeastern University in 1994 with a degree in Radiologic Technology. He worked for many years as a CT Technologist, with his last employment at ConforMIS in Bedford, MA in Image Support. He and his wife have lived in Northwood NH, since 1993 enjoying renovating their antique cape home, including learning the art of rug braiding and expanding their attached barn and riding ring to equine boarding. He participated in multiple volunteer organizations such as Firefighter/EMT-I for the Town of Northwood, Ski Patrol at Ragged Mountain and was past president of the NH Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse. He was dearly loved by his wife Jan, one month shy of celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, and his adored daughter Justine of Northwood. He is survived by 3 siblings and very loved multiple nieces and nephews. Most people will think of him when they hear music, as he loved music of any kind. He was the ultimate storyteller and salesman, with a wealth of facts and trivia that would always bring a smile to your face. He was a wonderful friend, always there with a hug and knowing you or any living creature would always be protected when he was around. He adored animals and children, including his menagerie of rescue dogs, cats and horses, often referring to his first horse 'Goldy" when he was 13 years old. He enjoyed his 'O' gauge model trains, needing to expand his lay-out to a larger room in the house. He loved the Christmas season, traditionally picked out the perfect tree, and decorated the house with boughs and holly, comparable to Country Living. But his greatest love was motorcycles including racing his collection of Honda Hawks at Loudon Speedway and street riding on his Harley with his enviable sound system. He loved the brotherhood of anything and everything to do with his motorcycle. His kind and generous soul will be missed by all the lives he touched. Our dear Gerry, Bear, the world will be a smaller place without your big heart. A celebration of Gerry's life will be held in the Still Oaks Funeral and Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom, NH on Saturday, August 6th, from 1-4 P.M.
