Gilbert "Gil" J. Fagnant, Jr. Obituary (1958

PEMBROKE - Gilbert "Gil" J. Fagnant, Jr. 63, of Pembroke, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Concord Hospital, surrounded by his family, following a period of declining health. Born on December 7, 1958 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Gilbert G. Fagnant, Sr. and Cleonice (Caparco) Johnson. Gil was a car guy through and through, he had a passion for it, from restoring cars and motorcycles to attending car shows, it was in his blood and he gladly passed it on to his sons as well. He spent his life working on vehicle restoration, which was not just his career but also a hobby. Gil was extremely creative, his children and grandchildren loved to display anything he made for them. He also shared a love for his Harley with his boys and enjoyed taking a ride when the weather allowed. Gil was also an avid animal lover. He is survived by his wife Cheryl (Conklin) Fagnant of Pembroke, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, sons, Gilbert J. Fagnant, III and his wife Stephanie of N. Kingstown, RI, Jamie L. Fagnant and his wife Victoria of Pembroke, sisters, Kim Wilcox of Virginia Beach, VA and Laurie Vaillancourt of W. Kingston, RI, he was proudly called Pepe by Gillian, Alexis and Cameron, and Uncle to Patrick, Zackary and Elijah. Gil's wishes were to be cremated and to have a Celebration of Life in the summer with a cookout with motorcycles and no suits, so when summer comes, we are going to honor his wishes.
