Lee E. (Wheet) Dawson Obituary (1935 - 2017)

GILMANTON IRONWORKS- Mrs. Lee E. (Wheet) Dawson, 81, of Gilmanton Ironworks, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2017. Born in Barnstead, Lee was the daughter of the late Rexford and Bessie (McDuffie) Wheet. She was raised and educated in Barnstead and had been a resident of Gilmanton for the past 55 years. Lee was a longtime member of the Lower Gilmanton Community Club and was later involved with the Church Dump Run Cafe on Wednesdays. She greatly enjoyed horses, gardening and flowers, and traveling to Florida, Hampton Beach and Canada. She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret Wheet, Vera Brown, Irene Broadbent, Phyllis Willey, Merle Wheet and David Wheet. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert W. Dawson; three sons, Robert Dawson of Gilmanton, Kenneth Dawson of Pittsfield and James Dawson of Center Barnstead; and one sister, Mary Prescott of Barnstead. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Sunday, August 27th at 2 P.M. in the Lower Gilmanton Baptist Church, Rte. 107 in Gilmanton.
