Michael Langley Chickering Obituary (1942

Michael Langley Chickering, 74, passed away April 9, 2016 due to complications with his cancer treatment. He was born February 10, 1942 in Manchester to George and Mary (Colby) Chickering of Pembroke. Michael grew up playing basketball and baseball in Pembroke, where he lived his entire life. He was a proud descendent of Timothy Chickering, chosen by General George Washington in 1776 to purchase the oxen used to pull Revolutionary War artillery. In step with his heritage, Mike was best known for traveling the roads of NH in his Chickering Livestock truck for more than 50 years, looking to buy cows. He is survived by his three children, Christine Chickering and her husband Steven Kimball, Kimberly Chickering-Maratea, and Jefferson Chickering; three grandchildren, Jefferson, Chelsea, and Brynlee; a great-granddaughter, Alyissun; his brother, Peter Chickering of New Boston; and his cousin Leigh McDonnell of Naples, FL.
