Obituary

Mrs. Simone (Chevrette) Herbert, 87, a longtime Allenstown resident, died Friday, December 18, 2015, surrounded by loving family, at her daughter's home in Loudon. Born in Allenstown on January 25, 1928, Simone was the daughter of Ulderic and Helen (Lauzier) Chevrette. Her work history included several years at the Chicopee Mills in Manchester, Northern Telecom and then the former Auto Syringe (Baxter's Industries) until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Ste Therese Rosebush Society. Simone loved being with family and friends and also enjoyed cooking and crafts, and was especially skilled in knitting and cross stitching. She was the widow of Arthur G. Herbert, who died in 2008 and to whom she had been married 60 years. She was also predeceased by brothers, Etienne "Pete" Chevrette and Robert Chevrette. Mrs. Herbert is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Priscilla and Richard Poitras of Allenstown, and Lynn and Eugene Menard of Loudon; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly Veinot and Mark, Tricia Fanjoy and Adam, and Jeremy Menard and Aimee; great grandchildren, Lily, Bode, Dylan, and Brynn; brothers, Marcel "Mike" Chevrette and his wife Marcelle of Allenstown and Richard Chevrette and his wife Joanne of FL; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Calling hours are Monday, December 28th from 4-7 PM at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main Street in Pembroke, where members of the St. Therese Rosebush Society will meet for a prayer service at 4:30 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 29th at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown, followed by burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to CRVNA/Hospice, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.
