ALLENSTOWN - Walter J. Hamel, 73, of, Allenstown, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 24, 2017.

He was born on May 9, 1944 in Manchester, the son of the late John and Doris (Bolduc) McKenna.

Walter was educated in the local schools and later served his country in the United States Navy. Upon his separation from the Navy, he was employed doing food delivery services for the Concord School District for over 30 years. Walter enjoyed being outdoors and was a handyman.

Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine C. (Vezina) Hamel in 2016 and by his son Dana W. Hamel in February, 2017.

He is survived by his son, Scott D. Hamel of Allenstown, his sister, Judy Haseman and her husband Roy of Florida; grandchildren, Laura Michelle and Evan Joseph as well as his grand dog Diesel.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, September 28th from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home, 167 Main Street in Pembroke. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
